The Awario Gem necklace is the world's first piece of jewelry with a beautiful design combined with reliable arrhythmia analysis: a combination that allows you to follow your heart in style, unnoticed and first and foremost, easily - wherever you go. Awario Gem is an official Fimea-approved and supervised medical device that has undergone the required process as a hospital device, ensuring quality and patient safety, and allowing a medical ECG on your smartphone to be displayed at the doctor’s office. How to use the Awario Gem necklace
The necklace uses Awario® sensor made by Suunto that operates on Suunto's Movesense technology and is a licensed medical device. The Awario Analysis Service identifies four different types of arrhythmias: atrial fibrillation, ventricular extrasystoles, and a heartbeat that is too fast or too slow.
This service allows you to take an ECG measurement as soon as you experience arrhythmias, or you can take regular measurements to identify and prevent asymptomatic atrial fibrillation.
Using the Awario Gem Necklace:
- 1. Download the Awario app from the app store on your smartphone (Android 7 and iOS 8, and the latest versions.) Awario requires an Internet connection to work.
- 2. Sign up and create an Awario account via email (If the sensor owner does not have a suitable phone or email, a relative can register as the app user instead)
- 3. Connect the sensor and phone with a Bluetooth 4.0 connection
- 4. Place the jewelry on your palm and the front and middle fingers of the other hand on top of the jewelry. You can also take a measurement from your chest. (suitable measurement method for eg Parkinson's patients)
- 5. The measurement takes about a minute. You can see the progress of the measurement on your phone
- 6. Awario Analysis generates an ECG report of the measurement and receives the results on your smartphone with a few seconds delay
The ECG result can be recorded on your phone and taken to a doctor's office so that the doctor can make the best treatment decisions for you.
Awario Gem Starter Kit - ready-to-use product package
The Awario® Starter Kit includes the Awario Gem Meter, Awario Sensor, and User's Guide. When you purchase the Awario Gem Starter Kit, you also register as an Awario user and access the app (Awario for Android ™ or Awario for iOS) and Awario Analysis. The product contains a battery. Awario requires an Internet connection to work.
Price includes Awario application and analytics for one (1) year. After that, the analytics service fee is:

Lumoava jewelry - promoting of heart's well-being
Awario's jewelry design has been made in collaboration with the Lumoava jewelry brand. The original shape of the pendant is based on Inni Pärnänen's idea of stones that have been polished round and smooth by water. The round shape corresponds to a natural stone, so it can be held between the palms. Touching and feeling a familiar shape can help turn thoughts toward a soothing landscape.
The structure and functionality of the pendant are the handwriting of Heikki Hartikainen. The starting point for building design has been to combine design, sensor, materials and functionality. Environmental friendliness has also been taken into account. The material of the jewelry is natural fiber composite and silver. There are two chain options: either a lockable ball chain or a black plastic ribbon, 50 or 60 cm in length. Choose the material and size that works best for you.

Compatibility and Recommendations
The Awario Gem Necklace is recommended for people over 65-years old and those with elevated risk factors; Heart or hypertension, diabetes, overweight, lack of exercise.
Awario is not intended for use:
- For the detection of arrhythmias other than those mentioned above
- For the diagnosis / monitoring of cardiac disorders (eg coronary heart disease) other than the above arrhythmias
The Awario Gem Necklace is not recommended for use if:
- You are pregnant; fetal heart rate may interfere with analysis.
- You have a pacemaker.
- You are under 18 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is over 35.
Awario requires a smartphone with at least iOS 8 or Android 7 and at least Bluetooth 4.0.
