The Kalevala Filigree clash pendant is part of the Filigree jewellery series, inspired by a filigree gold ring from the 17th century. The silver cross measures 17 x 11.5 mm and is decorated with a brilliant-cut clear zirconia in the centre. The length of the necklace's oval chevron chain is adjustable to 42/45 cm. The pendant's lace-like filigree pattern is delicate and beautiful. The cross is a perfect confession gift for a godchild or anyone who appreciates a decorative and delicate style of jewellery. The Kalevala cross is handmade in Finland from over 99% recycled silver.
The series designed by Tiina Arkko realises the designer's vision of timeless and formally reduced jewellery. In the 1700s, filigree decorated rings were popular among the wealthy ruling class and they were first introduced from Sweden to the coastal towns of Western Finland along with new ideas and styles. The Kalevala range has included jewellery designed on the basis of filigree rings since the 1960s.
