In 1993, Nick North, a research and development officer in the US Navy, was tasked with finding a watchmaker whose watches the crew could rely on for their demanding night operations. North was convinced by Luminox of Switzerland and began working together with the aim of creating the perfect military dive watch. That original model has now been reborn as the Navy SEAL 3000 series, continuing a long 25-year history of collaboration between Luminox and the US Army.
In the Coast Guard and Navy Special Forces, divers play a major role. Of course, in underwater work, keeping track of time is of the utmost importance and easily readable minutes can be a critical factor in mission success. This is precisely why Luminox Light Technology (LLT) is the most popular option on the market for luminescence.
Glowing in the dark for 25 years continuously, the indices are bright green in colour, as are the hour and second hands. The minute hand and the 12 o'clock indications on the dial and the rotating bezel glow in yellow-orange. The 44 mm wide case is made of Carbonox, a carbon fibre reinforced material launched by Luminox. With a double sealed control knob and 200 m water resistance, this model is also a familiar and reliable companion under the surface. The watch also features a pleasantly tactile, genuine rubber strap and a handy date function.
The Luminox Navy SEAL Colormark XS.3051 military watch is guaranteed for 2 years and comes in the original manufacturer's packaging.
