The Raymond Weil X Basquiat Limited Edition 7780-TIC-JMB01 chronograph watch pays homage to artist Jean-Michel Basquiat's bold use of colour and neo-expressionist worldview in his 1980s painting style. The clock face features one of Basquiat's most famous works entitled "Pez Dispenser", depicting a crown-wearing dinosaur. The side buttons also feature Basquiat's iconic symbols: the dollar sign and the copyright symbol. The colour scheme and patterns of the wristwatch are inspired in particular by Basquiat's famous paintings of tribalism, which were typically filled with various words, codes, logos or diagrams.
The watch is powered by the RW5030 automatic movement, which runs for 56 hours. The chronograph clock has a chronograph, a tachymeter scale and a date dial showing the current date at 6 o'clock. The watch has a titanium case, 43.5 mm in diameter and 13.7 mm thick. The scratch-resistant sapphire glass protects the dial from dents, which also features an anti-reflective treatment. The nickel-plated indexes use Super-Luminova material, meaning the watch is easy to read in the dark. The strap is genuine leather with a titanium folding clasp. The watch is water resistant to 100m/10atm, making it suitable for surface diving and snorkelling, but not for scuba diving.
The Raymond Weil X Basquiat Limited Edition 7780-TIC-JMB01 is supplied in the original manufacturer's case. The watch comes with a two-year warranty, which can be extended to three years by registering the watch on the Raymond Weil website
