Between each rotation, the Start Box stops to allow its mainspring to relax without strain; this gives the mechanism optimal maintenance. Programmed to perform 1,600 rotations per day (800 clockwise, 800 counter-clockwise) and finally settle at 12 o'clock, leaving your watch elegantly right-side up.
